HICAPACITY

In April this year, Linode (a VPS provider) was hacked. The group that hacked them used a ColdFusion exploit to break into their servers. I want to show you how to do the exact same thing (on our own servers of course). First, we’ll go over the story behind the hack, then we’ll get into the hack and show a live demo of the hack. I’ll show you how you can replicate the hack and how it works. I’ll also show you how a simple node.js app can be exploited to do a similar hack as well. HI Capacity members will be free. Please email me (matthew@hicapacity.org) for the information and to be added to our RSVP list. This presentation is only open to 15 non-members at $15 per person. The money from the talk will go to HI Capacity to help us expand.

When: Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from @ 7pm

Where: HI Capacity (in the Box Jelly), 307a Kamani Street Honolulu, 96813. (Please park on Ward Ave, Kamani street, or surrounding street parking).

How: Email matthew@hicapacity.org to be added to our RSVP list (free for members, $15 for non-members)

This talk is to inform others of the necessary steps in creating a website and understanding the importance of UI (User Interface) + UX (User Experience) design. These steps may seem tedious, but as you dive into the design or even the development stage, you’ll quickly find out that this process will help to diminish problems that could occur down the road.
