HI Capacity will be hosting a new series, entitled “Programming is Sweet” to rally our programming members and enthusiasts to come down to the space and work on programming projects together while enjoying featured sweets!

Sweets will be provided based on pre-orders. If you wish to eat, please purchase a ticket. This event will feature cupcakes from Hokulani Bakery. Yum! This will also serve as a small fundraiser for HI Capacity to save up for our Makerspace/Hackerspace Wishlist.

Warren Togami

Warren Togami is best known as the founder of the Fedora Project and has worked on major open-source projects including SpamAssassin, K12Linux.org, Cyanogenmod and Bitcoin. He is a Linux Software Engineer and MBA with a concentration on Business and Intellectual property law.

Node.js is Javascript runtime for the server-side that is based on Google Chrome’s V8 Javascript engine. Its popularity and use have taken off in the past 2 years due to its surprising performance advantages over other scripting languages. Its event loop concurrency model is similar to those that are used in Nginx, Python’s Twisted, and Ruby’s EventMachine. Javascript on the server side allows complicated server-side products to be written with a minimal amount of code.

James Wang is an independent software developer in Honolulu, Hawaii and the owner of Slickage Studios. He is also one of the co-founders of HI Capacity.
